Asher Ling of Princeton Digital Group named Executive of the Year - Data Center at the SBR Management Excellence Awards

PDG's Asher Ling, CTO and Managing Director, receives top honours for pioneering leadership in Asia's Data Center Evolution.

Asia’s leading data centre provider, Princeton Digital Group (PDG)’s Asher Ling has received the award for Executive of the Year in the Data Center category at the SBR Management Excellence Awards. Asher is the Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director of Singapore for PDG. With over 15 years of experience, Asher’s responsibilities include shaping the company's technology strategy globally as well as leading regional investments, growth, and business operations for PDG in Singapore, Johor, and Batam.

Each year, the SBR Management Excellence Award recognises and honours exceptional small businesses and their management teams. 

For sustainable data centre design and development, Asher led the design and engineering of data centres. His commitment to excellence extends to the PDG's SG1 data centre operations team, which, under his guidance, has earned a Management and Operations (M&O) Stamp of Approval from Uptime Institute for being the best operations team in the region. His leadership is instrumental in propelling PDG to new heights, solidifying its position as a frontrunner in the data centre industry. 

A proactive and adaptive leader, Asher and his SG1 team focused on innovating and optimising their existing infrastructure when there was a temporary pause on new data centre projects imposed by the Singapore government. His guidance led the team through resource limitations during the COVID-19 pandemic. They implemented, streamlined, and standardised processes across business units to improve operational efficiency. Under Asher's leadership, they successfully integrated all existing systems into a unified structure, reducing operational complexities and enhancing operational excellence.

Most recently, Asher’s role expanded to leading the development and operations of PDG’s Johor and Batam data centres as part of their wider Singapore strategy. This plan meets the increasing demand for colocation services in Singapore and neighbouring regions.

Asher’s instrumental role in shaping the future of data centres in Asia cannot be overstated. It is under his visionary leadership, innovative mindset, and dedication to operational excellence that PDG has achieved this award and remarkable success.
