AEM received the Technology Excellence Award 2020 in the Analytics - Semiconductors category in recognition of several key achievements.
First, the company’s chip-testing solution can increase throughput whilst reducing downtime and overhead cost. One of AEM’s major clients is a large chipmaker with a market capitalisation exceeding US$200b.
Following years of consistent growth in revenue and profit, AEM reached a record high revenue in fiscal year 2019.
These recent accomplishments did not occur overnight and have been built over years of dedicated work.
Since 2013, AEM has been developing a new generation, patented, and proprietary test framework that resolved the limitations of the traditional method by taking a modular and massively parallel approach to chip testing.
The innovative solution consolidates the three stages of testing into a single modular machine and supports the testing of multiple chip types in heterogeneous environments across multiple test sites.
Another advantage of AEM is that its thermodynamic engineering capabilities enable testing in extreme test scenarios (e.g., tri-temperature) without compromising the physical integrity of the device under test. This capability leads to a further increase in throughput.
To address the industry’s need for lower chip-testing costs, AEM introduced the asynchronous modular parallel smart (AMPS) platform in 2018, which provides application specific test-handling solutions for customers.
By operating on a modular and massively parallel test framework, AMPS increases efficiency and cost savings for chip makers and third-party testing companies. AEM’s customers are assured that its sophisticated system-level test solutions will deliver high levels of performance while allowing them to maintain reasonable costs.
