Business receipts of services industries up 2.3% in October

Most sectors saw higher turnover.

The overall business receipts of the services industries rose 2.3% year-on-year in October, according to data from the Department of Statistics.

All services industries recorded positive growth in turnover, except for the business services and recreation & personal services industries with turnover declining 1.8% and 0.5% respectively as compared to the same period last year.

Services industries that registered growths included the financial & insurance services (8.2%), health & social services (5.1%), education services (4.2%), information & communications (2.2%) and transport & storage services (0.6%) industries. 

Business receipts were flat on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
