Trade Minister attending Kuala Lumpur dialogue on business and economy
Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry, Lim Hng Kiang, will attend a private sector dialogue in Kuala Lumpur.
He will meet with Asean economic ministers and Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Banri Kaieda.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry said the dialogue, from July 8-9, 2011, would bring together policy-makers and private sector representatives to address issues related to Asean-Japan business and economic relations.
Others in attendance include representatives of the Federation of Japanese Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Asean, Nippon Keidanren, Japan External Trade Organisation and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The dialogue will also include a ministerial-level discussion between the AEMs and Kaieda to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation between Asean and Japan in particular, in the automotive, electronic and electrical, and agro-industry sectors.
