Chart of the Day: Manufacturing sector's hiring appetite dips 5% yearly

But there may be a wage hike in 2Q13.

According to the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, with a Net Employment Outlook of +10%, employers report cautiously optimistic hiring intentions for the April-June time frame. 

However, this is the weakest sector Outlook reported since 4Q 2009. The Outlook declines by 2 percentage points quarter-over-quarter and by 5 percentage points year-over-year.

"Based on unadjusted survey data, employers forecast some payroll gains in 2Q 2013. Hiring plans remain relatively stable quarter-over-quarter but are moderately weaker year-over-year," it said.
