Total government spending to rise 10% in FY2026, driven by healthcare and infrastructure.
Singapore’s total government spending for fiscal year (FY) 2026 is projected at $137.3b, up about 10% from the revised FY2025 figure of $124.5b, according to the Ministry of Finance’s Analysis of Revenue and Expenditure 2026.
Operating expenditure is estimated at $103.3b, a 6% increase from the previous year, whilst development expenditure is expected to rise 26% to $34.1b, reflecting investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and national initiatives, the Ministry said.
The projected spending is slightly above expected revenue of $134.8b, resulting in a small budget surplus for FY2026.
The Ministry said the figures indicate a focus on supporting economic growth while keeping overall fiscal discipline, balancing operating costs with strategic development priorities.
