Singapore to strengthen collaboration on sustainability with PH

The two states agreed to expand collaboration in renewable energy, including solar and wind.

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said Singapore will begin the city-state’s cooperation in new areas such as sustainability and new technologies with the Philippines during his working visit to the country.

“First, we agreed on the importance of expanding our collaboration in renewable energy, both bilaterally and in the region,” Wong said.

The Prime Minister said Singapore companies are interested in renewable energy projects in the Philippines, including solar and wind projects.

Secondly, the two agreed to do more in sustainability to meet their respective climate goals. Following the MoU on carbon credits collaboration, Singaporean officials are now working towards finalising a legally binding Implementation Agreement aligned with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

“This will facilitate commercial participation in carbon credit projects to spur technology transfer, green investments, and create jobs,” he said.

Moreover, he said the Ministry of Health is exploring ways to support Filipino healthcare workers in Singapore to upskill and reintegrate into the Philippine healthcare system.

Further, Singapore will support the Philippines’ capacity-building efforts by enhancing human resource development cooperation in various fields, including digitalisation.

“For instance, the National University of Singapore has developed a leadership programme to advance the Philippine Civil Service Commission’s digital transformation agenda,” Wong said.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
