Singapore Fintech Association launches ‘Project Tapir’ with Malaysian VCs

The partnership aims to foster cross-border collaboration between Singapore fintechs and Malaysia.

The Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) has introduced Project Tapir to highlight promising Singapore fintech companies interested in expanding into Malaysia.

The project, in partnership with Malaysia-based venture capital (VC) firms Artem Ventures and OSK Ventures International Berhad (OSKVI), focuses on various sectors, including payments, regtech, insurtech, AI, sustainability, climate-related tech, education, healthcare, enterprise tech, and other emerging technologies.

A Malaysian-based VC firm specializing in early-stage technology startups, 1337 Ventures, is also part of the project, serving as a secondary partner.

As part of the agreement, SFA will assist in selecting companies to participate in a business mission to Malaysia in May 2024, where Artem Ventures and OSKVI will support their expansion efforts.
