Don’t settle for less: Legendary Hong Kong brings authentic and traditional HK dishes to Singapore

The restaurant’s construction cost over a million dollars.

Legendary Hong Kong is now in Singapore and aims at nothing but to bring authentic and traditional dishes all the way from Hong Kong.

Opened in July 27, Legendary Hong Kong believes that while there are a number of Hong Kong-style restaurants in Singapore, there seems to be a lack of one unique restaurant that allows its guests to enjoy the all-time favourite dishes from Hong Kong including dim sums, roast meats, noodle/congee, cha caan ting food and desserts under one roof. Legendary Hong Kong aims to give Singaporeans the ‘most undiluted’ Hong Kong cuisine one can find.

According to one of the owners of Legendary Hong Kong, Jarrod Seah, the entire LHK team is determined to fulfill the restaurant’s commitment to be as authentic as possible. The owners brought 8 experienced chefs from Hong Kong to be permanently based in Singapore. He also claims that they have brought in most of their raw ingredients from Hong Kong without breaking regulations.

Apart from variety, Jarrod shares that ‘authenticity’ is the key word for LHK’s operations. That is why they started their restaurant in Jurong Point after considering their ideal shop space criteria wherein both size and location is available.

“When you walk down the main street of Mong Kok Precinct in Jurong Point, you will think that there are 4 different entrances for LHK. Each of these entrances mimic the narrow walkway of a typical Hong Kong Street. However, upon entering you will see that it is actually one large restaurant hidden within,” says Jarrod.

Legendary Hong Kong’s interior is reminiscent of Hong Kong tea cafes like Cha Caan Teng where mosaic tiles, round tables, stools and old style handwritten Chinese menus are stuck on the wall.

With over a million dollars, Legendary Hong Kong in Singapore was made possible. But before calling it a success, Jarrod said that they had to face the challenge of finding and bringing the Master Chefs from Hong Kong to Singapore. Moreover, the chefs, he said are only interested in using the finest and freshest ingredients they can get their hands on so they even have to search for the best ingredients and imported them from Hong Kong and also from Ireland.

Jarrod shares that they plan to bring the brand to other parts of Singapore.
