F&B sales rebound 5.5% in February

The increase follows a 3.2% dip in January.

Sales of Food & Beverage (F&B) services rose 5.5% year-on-year (YoY) in February, compared to a 3.2% decline in January, according to the Department of Statistics.

The increase was attributed to the timing of the Chinese New Year, which fell in February.

The estimated total value of F&B services in the month stood at $1.6b, with online sales accounting for 20.3%, down from 22.5% from the previous month.

For the two months of January and February, F&B sales were up 1% compared with the same period in 2025.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales rose 0.9%.

Within the sector, sales of Food Caterers and Restaurants increased 12.6% and 9.2% respectively.

Fast Food Outlets and Cafes grew 4.9% and 0.4%.

Meanwhile, turnover at Food Courts and Other Eating Places declined 4.4%.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
