SFA launches two farm plots for tender amidst lease framework overhaul

The tender closes at 12 p.m. on 28 July 2026.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has launched a public tender for two agricultural land parcels in Lim Chu Kang and Sungei Tengah under its annual Singapore Agri-Space Sales (SAS) programme.

The sites, ST28I in Sungei Tengah and LCK 218 in Lim Chu Kang, are designated for vegetable farming and will be awarded on 20-year leases.

The agency said bids will be assessed based on production capacity, track record, farming experience, and the viability and innovation of the proposed farming plans, including compliance with good agricultural practices.

The tender closes at 12 p.m. on 28 July 2026.

Alongside the tender, SFA is updating its farm lease framework following a review that incorporated feedback from industry stakeholders on development timelines and operational flexibility.

Under the revised terms, the Project Completion Period will be extended from three to five years for successful bidders from SAS 2026 onwards, whilst the timeline to reach declared Potential Production Output (PPO) will be extended from five to eight years from the start of the lease.

From 1 September 2026, farms will also be allowed to apply to diversify into other approved food types to meet their production targets on a tonnage-equivalent basis and subject to approval.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
