HSA revokes licence of retailer for e-vaporiser violations

It seized over 120 e-vaporisers from the retailers.

The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) revoked the tobacco retail licence of Real Mate Mini-Mart for possession of illegal electronic vaporisers (e-vaporisers) and duty-unpaid cigarettes.

HSA seized over 120 e-vaporisers and components from the tobacco retail outlet in its raid.

Under the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act, selling e-vaporisers is liable to a fine of $10,000, or imprisonment of six months for the first offence, and a fine of $20,000, or imprisonment of 12 months for the second offence.

The purchase, use and possession of e-vaporisers carries a maximum fine of $2,000.
