IHH Healthcare names Nik Norzrul Thani as new chairman

He succeeds Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan bin Hashim in the role.

IHH Healthcare has announced the appointment of Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani bin N Hassan Thani as chairman and independent non-executive director.

Thani has succeeded Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan bin Hashim, who had elected to retire at the group’s annual general meeting last May.

As a lawyer, Thani practises with Zaid Ibrahim & Co. and is a member of KPMG's Global Legal Services network, whilst also providing legal counsel for mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and the issuance of private debt securities, including Islamic financial instruments.

Moreover, he serves on the board of listed companies including SD Guthrie Berhad, Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad, and T7 Global Berhad.

“The Board and management have put in place strong foundations to future-proof the organisation and realise our aspiration to Care. For Good,” Thani said.

“Together, I am confident we will entrench and elevate our leadership position, driving profitable growth while upholding our responsibilities to all our stakeholders, including our patients, people, the public and our planet,” he added.
