Ascott and Jin Jiang Hotels launch joint venture for apartment hotel expansion in China
It will initially oversee two operating properties in Wuhan and one in Shenzhen.
Ascott Limited, a subsidiary of CapitaLand Investment, has announced a 50:50 joint venture with Jin Jiang Hotels (China Region) to expand their apartment hotel brands, Quest and TULIP LODJ, in China.
The partnership will primarily use a franchise model to address the growing demand for upscale and upper midscale apartment hotels in the country.
The joint venture will initially oversee two operating properties in Wuhan and one in Shenzhen, totalling around 600 units. Plans are in place to expand TULIP LODJ and introduce Quest through franchised partnerships.
Jin Jiang Hotels, the largest hotel group in China and the second largest worldwide, has approximately 13,250 hotels and over 1.34 million rooms. The collaboration aims to leverage Jin Jiang’s infrastructure and local expertise to accelerate the growth of both brands.
Properties under this venture will be part of the loyalty programs of both Ascott and Jin Jiang Hotels, allowing guests to earn and redeem points through either Ascott Star Rewards or Jin Jiang Rewards.
