9 things that matter to Singapore talents

High salary can only make them stay up to a point.

Today, talented individuals have a choice of where and how they work. In a recent survey released by Kelly Services Singapore, the consulting firm found that while a high number of the Singapore workforce considers salary, benefits, and financial incentives as the top most attractive trait of employers, work-life balance follows closely behind.

70% of talent in Singapore see flexible work arrangements as positively impacting work-life balance. Flexible arrangements include non-traditional schedules or the ability to telecommute. The results for Singapore exceed global average of 63%.

To attract and retain the best people, Kelly Services suggest employers must do more than offer traditional inducements such as competitive salaries and linear
career paths. "Workers are increasingly looking to “design” the perfect balance between their personal and professional lives – and having a boss who will support them is now an important differentiator in their employment choice," it said.
