EdTech startup Cudy transforms desktops into virtual classrooms

Students can enroll in online lessons where they can see their tutor and virtual classmates in real-time.

Cudy takes tuition classes to the 21st century by creating a unified platform for students, teachers, and parents to engage in a virtual classroom designed to make every step of the learning process easy and accessible - all within the comfort of one's home.

Once enrolled, students take the lesson through a livestreaming service, allowing them to see both their tutor and virtual classmates in real-time. A dashboard helps the students keep track of their progress, too. There’s no need to worry about storage space, as Cudy also provides a cloud drive where students can store files of their class-related learning materials.

“Teach your best and we’ll do the rest,” said Cudy chief executive officer and cofounder Alexander Lim. “It’s time for education to catch up with technology so we completely re-engineered the online classroom and came up with Cudy, an all-in-one solution for students, teachers and parents alike.”

Students also gain more control in choosing which tuition classes to take, as the website offers essential information on the classes, including the class summary, lesson descriptions, their schedules, class capacity, and prices. The startup offers multi-level classes in English, Math, Science, Chinese, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Parents, meanwhile, can easily monitor their children’s progress through Cudy. They have access to the livestreaming sessions, enabling them to track the lessons and check if their child is able to keep up with the various educational requirements.

The team behind Cudy also made it possible for both students and parents to consult the tutors anytime, anywhere. Payment for lessons will be a breeze, as the dashboard was designed so students and parents can easily schedule the payment of lessons. Tutors also gain more leeway to decide on the size and pricing of their classes. They can list down their specializations as well to help make their tuition class stand out.

Cudy primarily focuses on serving students aged 14 years and above, with the current target audience being students in Junior College.
