Job advertising numbers are on the rise in 1Q as Singapore witnessed the largest number of vacancies in February and March during the post-bonus boom.

According to Robert Walters' report, as a result of Singapore’s heavily candidate-driven market, the overall year-on-year 38% increase is caused by the strong demand for Singaporean talent. Hence, there is a big push for attracting overseas Singaporeans from both organisations and the government.

"As more multinationals enter Singapore, job opportunities will continue to rise in quarter two and businesses are likely to see challenges in filling the skill gaps.

With more companies looking towards increasing business efficiencies, technology is earmarked for more growth which caused the rise in job advertising for IT professionals by 36%. To address the acute talent shortage in Singapore, employers should establish strong working relationships with recruitment firms in order to source for top local talent," according to the report.
