5 in 10 employers mull hiring temporary workers

Companies in the energy and utilities sector are most likely to do so.

Half of employers in Singapore are keen to increase the hiring of temporary workers amidst the talent crunch in the country.

Data from Manpower Group showed that amongst industries, the Energy and Utilities industry (67%) and the Financials and Real Estate Industry (62%) were most keen to hire temporary workers.

Many also plan to maintain the number of temporary workers (40%) in their company.

The report also found that companies are looking to hire more gig workers (36%), whilst more (49%) plan to maintain the number of their gig workers.
