Global graduate survey debuts in Singapore

Europe’s leading employer branding researchers to take the pulse of Singapore graduates.

This November, CEOs and senior executives from Singapore’s leading corporations will gather at the Singapore’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers 2010 Awards to find out who Singaporean students and graduates have chosen as Singapore’s Leading Graduate Employer of 2010, according to a GTI Asia report.

The celebratory event is making its debut in Singapore in 2010, joining GTI’s global 100 series that is currently ongoing in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The official launch and announcement of the Singapore’s 100 debut was held at the Singapore Marriott Hotel on 25 May 2010 with GTI’s strategic partner, CPA Australia, one of the largest accounting bodies in the world.

The rankings of Singapore’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers 2010 will be determined by a poll of Singaporean students and graduates across the island and the world. The survey will be conducted on www.singapores100.com and on the campuses of Singapore’s top tertiary institutions. Over the next five months, the poll – powered by trendence, Europe’s leading employer branding research company – will gather students’ and graduates’ views on their employers of choice.

The findings will be revealed at the inaugural Singapore’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers 2010 Awards ceremony, which will be held at the InterContinental Hotel on 1 November 2010.

Chairman of GTI Asia, Hee Kim Fah, added: "We look forward to hearing from Singapore‘s graduates about their top choices of employers as well as their thoughts about their employment prospects."

“The results of this survey will provide a gauge to employers what our graduates’ views and preferences are in terms of their employer-of-choice," said Chaly Mah, President of Singapore Division, CPA Australia and CEO, Deloitte Asia Pacific. "As Singapore competes for talent, this will not only be a useful tool for employers in their recruitment and human capital management strategies but also in developing their organisational culture and values,” he added.

“While we focus on empowering students with the leadership skills and competencies needed to embrace a future career more confidently, GTI provides relevant information needed to excel in job hunting, interviews and making more insightful choices for the future,” said Yves Gildas Yombi, External Relations Manager of AIESEC Singapore, the Official Youth Leadership partner for Singapore’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers 2010. “AIESEC’s partnership with GTI for Singapore's 100 aims to provide a unique overview of companies for undergraduates and postgraduates who are keen to carve out a career in various industries.”

This year’s results will be compiled in the Singapore’s 100 leading graduate employers 2010 directory, which will be distributed in universities in Singapore and abroad.
