Ngee Ann Polytechnic launches SEED for sustainability in curriculum and operations

As part of the initiative, the school has tapped 15 partners to establish a built environment ecosystem.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) has rolled out its Sustainability Education & Ecosystem Development (SEED) initiative to integrate sustainability across its curriculum, operations, and partnerships.

As part of SEED, the polytechnic forged 15 partnerships with Johnson Controls, Meinhardt, Sodexo, and Surbana Jurong amongst its partners, to establish the built environment ecosystem (BEE).

BEE combines knowledge from infrastructure solutions providers and NP’s expertise to offer transformative training for the local built environment industry.

Through BEE, NP intends to upskill about 1,000 professionals within the next three years

In addition, the Centre for Environmental Stability, previously known as the Environmental & Water Technology Centre of Innovation, will serve as a platform for collaboration.

The platform aims to enable collaborations between industry partners and its academic schools to provide solutions addressing sustainability issues.

The centre will also provide opportunities for students to develop sustainability skills as they work on their industry projects.
