10 of Singapore's biggest firms have fresh leadership

These CEOs have only been leading their companies for less than two years.

Some 10 CEOs from the largest Singapore-listed firms have only been leading their companies for less than two years, according to data compiled by Singapore Business Review.

This includes one of the country's top banks, DBS Group Holdings Ltd., whose CEO, Tan Shu Shan, took over just last March 2025.

CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust CEO Tan Choon Siang also joined in 2025 after a stint leading CapitaLand’s Malaysian REIT arm.

Four REITs—Mapletree Logistics Trust, Mapletree Industrial Trust, Frasers Logistics and Commercial Trust, and Keppel DC REIT—installed new leaders between 2023 and 2024. Three of these appointments were female, marking a generational shift in asset stewardship and a boardroom tilt toward operational depth.

Chris Ong was appointed to lead Seatrium Limited in 2023, while Scott Price assumed leadership at DFI Retail Group in the same year.

Venture Corporation named Wong Chee Kiong as chief executive, and both Genting Singapore and Hongkong Land Holdings completed transitions in 2024 under Lim Kok Thay and Michael Smith, respectively.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
