Google Cloud, EnterpriseSG launch SEA AI startup programme
Selected founders can receive up to $447k (US$350k) in cloud credits.
Google Cloud has opened applications for a Southeast Asia artificial intelligence (AI) startup accelerator developed with Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and other regional agencies.
The ‘Google for Startups Accelerator: Southeast Asia’ initiative will take in 25 startups for an equity-free, three-month programme beginning in August.
The accelerator will support Seed to Series B AI startups from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Selected firms will receive technical and go-to-market support from Google Cloud, including access to Tensor Processing Units, Agentic Data Cloud, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and Google Antigravity.
They may also receive up to approximately $447k (US$350k) in cloud credits under the Google for Startups Cloud Program to support AI training, fine-tuning, and deployment.
The initiative also includes technical residencies in Singapore and Silicon Valley. The California component will include sessions at Google’s Mountain View and San Francisco campuses, and engagement with venture capital networks on Sand Hill Road and Palo Alto.
In Singapore, startups will have access to engineering advisory from Google Cloud’s engineering centre and Google DeepMind’s AI research lab.
Google Cloud said the accelerator builds on Google startup programmes that have supported more than 200 early-stage startups in Southeast Asia since 2018. It added that these firms have raised $8.4b (US$6.6b) in funding and created 11,300 jobs.
The new programme is part of the group’s expanded collaborations with EnterpriseSG, Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the Vietnam National Innovation Center, and the Startup and Innovation Hub of Ho Chi Minh City.
