Consumers are worried about their privacy and personal information.
Six in 10 (62%) consumers said they are concerned the most about their privacy and personal information when using metaverse, Yahoo APAC Metaverse study showed.
This was followed by fraud (61%) and absence of legal norms (60%).
More than 70% of consumers are aware of the metaverse, of these 79% are Generation Z and Millennials.
Seven in 10 are from the Gen X population whilst 62% are baby boomers.
For Gen Zs, social connection, entertainment, and virtual communities are amongst benefits of being in the metaverse.
