Singlife boosts insurance for MINDEF and MHA servicemen

The company has provided coverage for servicemen since 1983.

Singlife will increase the core insurance coverage for personnel under the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Group Insurance Scheme starting 1 November.

Coverage under the Core Scheme will rise from $230,420 (S$300,000) to $268,823 (S$350,000), strengthening protection for in-service personnel, national servicemen (NSmen), and NS volunteers.

The Core Scheme includes Group Term Life and Group Personal Injury policies, which provide life and personal accident insurance coverage.

Singlife also offers a Voluntary Scheme that allows servicemen to increase their insurance coverage, add riders for critical illness or disability, and extend protection to their dependents.

Coverage remains valid after leaving service, provided premiums are paid.

Participants and their families are eligible for discounts on Singlife’s travel, home, car, and selected health insurance products, as well as benefits under the Singlife Rewards programme.

The enhancement follows Singlife’s long-standing role as the official insurer for MINDEF and MHA.

The company, and its predecessor Aviva, have provided coverage for servicemen since 1983 through the SAF Group Term Life Insurance Scheme, later expanded to include MHA in 2016.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
