ITAP 2023 will circle around sustainability, optimising manufacturing efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

The Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP) this year marks its sixth edition, featuring more than 50 emerging products and solutions targeting the region’s manufacturing industry.

Curated by Constellar and in partnership with Deutsche Messe, ITAP 2023 will encompass three key areas: sustainability, optimising manufacturing efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Heng Swee Keat will be launching the event’s first day with his opening remarks.

“Recent disruptions have placed a greater impetus for manufacturers and businesses in the global supply chain to adopt new technological innovations and sustainable solutions to remain competitive. As the region’s leading marketplace for connecting businesses, ideas, and networks in the advanced manufacturing sector, ITAP 2023 continues to be the

preferred platform for industry players to discover Industry 4.0 innovations and gain insight to how emerging technologies such as AI and digital twins contribute to the accelerated pace of industrial transformation experienced in many sectors today,” Paul Lee, Chief Executive (Markets) at Constellar, expressed.

More than 300 exhibitors will be present, whilst 100 industry speakers will share their insights. Overall, 18,000 delegates, trade visitors, and attendees are expected from 18 to 20 October at the Singapore Expo.

Gov't installs over 15,300 EV charging points across S'pore
About 7,100 of these are public, with the rest in private areas like condominiums. The government has installed over 15,300 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across Singapore, with plans to expand to 60,000 by 2030, according to the Land Transport Authority's (LTA) report.About 7,100 of these charging points are publicly accessible, whilst the remainder are in private spaces such as condominiums. Drivers can locate these chargers using the MyTransport.SG app or specific EV charging operators’ apps. Most public chargers are slower alternating current types designed for overnight charging. In response, the LTA plans to roll out fast-charging options. These fast chargers can recharge an EV battery from 20% to 80% in about an hour, reducing charging time compared to standard chargers. In residential areas, EV infrastructure is also expanding, with one in two HDB car parks now equipped with EV chargers. The LTA aims to ensure that every HDB Town is EV-ready by 2025, with chargers in nearly 2,000 car parks. Over a third of new car registrations in early 2024 were electric, reflecting growing EV adoption. Currently, electric vehicles make up 3.3% of Singapore’s total population, with more than 21,800 registered EVs.
