December exports recover from November slump

Demand for non-oil domestic exports in December rose 8.9% on-month and 9.4% on-year.

This comes after a 13% on-month decrease in November.

According to IE Singapore, the rise was driven by exports of non-electronic domestic exports, even as electronic export numbers dipped.

Electronics exports dropped by 1.1% in December, contracting sharply from an 11% growth in November.

Non-electronic products grew 16% on-month due to demand for petrochemicals, specialised machinery and measuring instruments.
