Manufacturing output dips 2.5% YoY in December

Excluding the biomedical manufacturing segment, output would’ve increased by 0.5% YoY.

Singapore’s manufacturing output fell by 2.5% YoY and 1.7% MoM, the latest data released by EDB Singapore revealed.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, which recorded a 23.9% YoY decline, December’s manufacturing output would have increased by 0.5% YoY and 3.6% MoM.

Apart from biomedical manufacturing, general manufacturing (-15.9% YoY) and precision engineering (-.7.4% YoY) also recorded lower output in December.

Electronics, chemicals, and transport engineering, on the other hand, recorded output increases, growing 6.3% YoY, 2.8% YoY, and 0.2% YoY, respectively.
