Manufacturing output grows 10.7% MoM in September

Excluding the biomedical manufacturing segment, output would’ve grown by 17.9% MoM. 

Singapore’s manufacturing output rose by 10.7% MoM, but decreased 2.1% YoY September 2023, according to the latest data released by EDB Singapore.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, which recorded a 18.9% YoY decline, September's manufacturing output would have increased by 0.1% YoY and 17.9% MoM.

In September, most clusters recorded output decreases except transport engineering, which recorded a 13.2% YoY increase in output and electronics which posted a 10.2% YoY growth.

Apart from biomedical manufacturing, the other clusters that recorded output decreases were general manufacturing (-10.3% YoY), precision engineering (-10.4% YoY) and chemicals (-12.9% YoY).
