Manufacturing output grows 5.8% YoY in March

The transport engineering sector posted the biggest growth at 20.2%.

Singapore’s manufacturing output increased by 5.8% year-on-year (YoY) in March 2025. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output increased 4.9%.

The transport engineering sector posted the biggest growth at 20.2% driven by the aerospace segment which expanded 30.9%.

The electronics sector also grew by 8.9%. Under the sector, the infocomms, semiconductors and other electronic modules segments increased by 14.1%, 8.2% and 1.6% respectively.

However, the precision engineering sector decreased by 0.1%. Whilst the machinery and systems segment increased by 0.3%, the precision modules and components segment declined by 1.7%.

Additionally, the chemicals sector decreased by 6% with all segments recording output declines.

Further, general manufacturing output contracted by 13%. The printing and food, beverages and tobacco segments fell 1% and 10.9% respectively.
