Mixed cluster performance slows manufacturing growth to 1.2% YoY in October

In September, manufacturing output rose by 9.8 YoY.

Singapore’s manufacturing output rose by 1.2% YoY in October, EDB Singapore revealed.

On a sequential basis, manufacturing output increased 0.1% in October.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, which recorded a 7.8% YoY expansion, manufacturing output in October would have increased by only 0.4% YoY and decreased by 1.9% MoM.

Electronics (+4.3% YoY) and transport engineering (+10.9% YoY) also reported expansions.

Clusters that reported decreases were general manufacturing, chemicals, and precision engineering, declining by 0.6%, 2.2%, and 15.9% YoY, respectively.
