UMS’ net attributable profit rises to $9.8m in Q1

The board declared a tax-exempt dividend of $0.01 per share.

UMS reported a net attributable profit of $9.8m in Q1 2025, supported by a 7% increase in revenue to $57.7m.

The revenue growth was driven by stronger performances in both its Semiconductor and Aerospace segments, which rose 6% and 22% respectively. These gains were partly offset by a 12% decline in the Others segment.

Year-on-year, revenue in the Others segment fell 39%, mainly due to weaker performance in the material and tooling distribution business.

Geographically, all of the group’s key markets—with the exception of Malaysia and the US—posted lower revenue during the quarter.

Malaysia emerged as the top performer, recording a 287% year-on-year surge in sales to $9.4m. US revenue rose 7%, whilst sales in Singapore eased 5% and Taiwan saw a 22% decline.

The board declared a tax-exempt dividend of $0.01 per share.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
