ValueMax Group buys Ban Fook Pawnshop for $1.75m

Ban Fook has a net asset of $1.84m in 2023.

Singapore-listed pawnbroker ValueMax Group announced its acquisition of 100% of the issued and paid-up share capital, totaling 3,030,000, of pawnshop operator Ban Fook Pawnshop Pte. Ltd for a total consideration of $1.75m.

The acquisition will be fully paid in cash on the date of the completion of the acquisition. However, the acquisition is on the condition that Ban Fook obtain approval from the Registrar of Pawbrokers for the transfer of all the pledges held at its outlet in Woodlands Avenue to premises nominated by ValueMax.

Ban Fook will also need to terminate its lease with the Housing & Development Board at the said outlet and reinstate the premises before returning it to HDB whilst making all the payment of penalties imposed by the HDB.

The audited net asset value of Ban Fook for the year ended 31 December 2023 was S$1.84m.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
