Alibaba Cloud to boost CapitaLand’s digital operations in China

The enhanced collaboration will include the use of Qwen, Alibaba Cloud’s proprietary large language model.

Alibaba Cloud and CapitaLand Group signed a memorandum of understanding to further strengthen their longstanding partnership and accelerate CapitaLand’s digital transformation in China.

The new agreement will extend beyond cloud-based digitalisation. It will cover a wide range of AI applications, including Alibaba’s large language model Qwen, implemented across CapitaLand’s business ecosystem that will enable smarter operations, precision marketing, ESG integration, and seamless customer service experiences across its diverse online and offline businesses.

Alibaba Cloud and CapitaLand began their collaboration in China in 2015. They formalised their strategic partnership in 2019.

CapitaLand has eliminated the need for local server deployments and substantially reduced its IT infrastructure costs in China since it migrated its enterprise systems to Alibaba Cloud.

The expansion of Alibaba Cloud and CapitaLand’s collaboration underscores their commitment to jointly advancing the application of technological innovation in the real estate sector.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
