CapitaLand Ascendas REIT expands share base following 249 million private placement

The new units officially commenced trading 2 April, bringing CLAR's total unit count to over 4.86 billion.

CapitaLand Ascendas REIT (CLAR) has issued 249,377,000 Private Placement Units at an issue price of S$2.406 per Private Placement Unit in connection with its Private Placement.

“With the issue of the Private Placement Units, the total number of Units in issue is 4,861,329,294 Units as at the date of this announcement,” a regulatory filing read, noting that the units commenced trading on the main board on 2 April.

CLAR earlier announced that it has launched an equity fund raising to generate gross proceeds of no less than approximately $900m through a private placement and a non-renounceable preferential offering.

It intends to deploy the proceeds to finance recent and pending acquisitions, including $113.6m for three Singapore industrial and logistics properties, $57.9m for a logistics property in Ohio, US, $108.6m for six logistics properties in Spain.

Other allocations include a $214.8m for a logistics estate in Singapore, $93.5m for a 50% interest in a Singapore business park, and $188.3m for a 49% interest in a data centre in Osaka, Japan.
