Medical devices slump drags Vicplas International into the red

However, the group’s revenue for the period increased by 14.9% YoY to S$62.4m (US$48.8m).

Vicplas International posted a S$3.4m (US$2.66m) loss after tax during the first half of the financial year 2026 due to the decline in its medical devices segment results.

However, the group’s revenue for the period increased by 14.9% year on year to S$62.4m (US$48.8m) due to higher revenue from both its medical devices and pipes and pipe fittings segments.

Revenue for the medical devices segment was S$39m (US$30.5m), an increase of 11.3% YoY, mainly due to an increase in orders from customers.

Meanwhile, the pipes and pipe fittings segment recorded an 21.4% YoY growth to S$23.4m (US$18.3m) as construction activities in Singapore continued to be robust.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
