Tan Su Shan named Asia’s most powerful woman in business, ranks sixth globally on Fortune’s 2026 list

Alongside Tan is Temasek’s Png Chin Yee at 77th.

DBS Group CEO Tan Su Shan ranks sixth globally and first in Asia on Fortune’s 2026 “Most Powerful Women in Business” list.

The magazine has also named Tan as Asia’s most powerful woman in business in 2025.

Succeeding Piyush Gupta, who was formerly the bank’s CEO for 15 years, her appointment marked the first time a woman has led Southeast Asia’s largest bank by assets.

Under her leadership, the group reported a record profit of $10.7b (US$8.3b) last year, despite a stronger Singapore dollar and a difficult interest rate environment.

The bank’s market capitalisation surpassed $129b (US$100b) for the first time last year, placing it amongst the world’s top 25 banks by market value.

Before her appointment as chief executive, she led DBS’s consumer, wealth, and institutional banking divisions, which together accounted for about 90% of the bank’s revenue.

Alongside Tan is Temasek International’s Chief Financial Officer Png Chin Yee, ranking at 77th.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
