Centurion Accommodation REIT gains provisional nod to expand Westlite Ubi
Total capacity will increase from 1,650 to 2,190 beds.
Centurion Accommodation REIT has received provisional permission to develop an additional six-storey block and alter the existing eight-storey block at Westlite Ubi.
The proposed works will increase the number of beds at the property by 540, raising total capacity from 1,650 to 2,190 beds upon completion, according to an announcement on 10 February.
The land premium payable to the JTC Corporation in relation to the project is approximately $13.9m. Centurion Asset Management Pte. Ltd, the REIT’s manager, intends to fund the development using committed debt facilities.
Construction is expected to start by the second quarter of 2026 and will take about 1.5 years to complete, subject to compliance with prescribed architectural and technical requirements and approval by the relevant authorities.
The existing block will remain operational and income-generating during the works.
The manager said the project is not expected to have any material effect on the REIT’s net asset value per unit or distribution per unit for the financial year ending 31 December 2026.
