URA announces new board changes

A new chairperson and two new members were added to the board.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority has appointed Ow Foong Pheng as chairperson of the board, effective 1 April. She will succeed Peter Ho Hak Ean, who was chairperson of the board since 1 April 2012.

Ow is the permanent secretary for the Ministry of National Development. She also brings vast experience in public service including having held various appointments in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Manpower (MOM), JTC, and Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).

She will be retiring from the Administrative Service on 1 April after serving more than 38 years in the public service.

The board also welcomed two new members:  Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel Ltd., and Janet Young Yoke Mun, managing director and group head for Channels and Digitalisation, Strategic Communications and Brand at UOB.

Meanwhile, two current members, Bill Chang and Ong Kim Pong will also be stepping down from the board on 31 March.
