Retail sales jumped 6.5% in November on back of robust car sales

Total sales value came in at $3.2b.

Car sales again came to the rescue in November. Data released today by the Department of Statistics showed that retail sales climbed 6.5% year-on-year in November on back of robust car sales. Excluding vehicle sales, sales decreased by 0.4%.

On a month-on-month basis, retail sales declined 0.7% in November. Excluding car sales, retail sales slipped by 0.9%.

The total retail sales value in November 2014 was estimated at $3.2 billion, higher than the $3.0 billion in November 2013.
