Chart of the day: Singapore has the fastest internet speed in SEA

It achieved a median fixed broadband speed of more than 150mbps.

This chart from Ookla shows that Singapore has the fastest internet speed amongst its peers in Southeast Asia.

Looking at the broadband speed performance in 2021, Singapore maintained a sizeable lead against other countries by clocking more than 150mbps in Q4 2021.

Closed behind it is Thailand which clocked more than 140mbps.

Other countries in SEA however failed to even reach more than 100mbps with Malaysia clocking 75.91mbps, Vietnam at 67.91mbps, and the Philippines at 47.50mbps. Brunei and Laos meanwhile achieved close to 30mbps whilst Indonesia and Cambodia recorded the slowest fixed-line market at median download speeds of 20.08mbps and 18.89mbps, respectively.
