Network failures disrupt Singapore firms for hours weekly

One in four firms faced up to four hours of weekly downtime due to network failures.

More than half (57%) of organisations in Singapore have experienced up to two hours of downtime per week due to fixed line or fibre network failure over the last 12 months.

Data from Cradlepoint also revealed that although 62% of Singaporean organisations use cellular connectivity, about one in four (25%) have experienced up to four hours of downtime per week.

In line with this, 50% of organisations utilise network-edge solutions to enable in-vehicle connectivity.

Meanwhile, 47% plan to extend these solutions to include in-vehicle connectivity in the next 12-24 months.

The report also revealed more than two-thirds of firms experienced a network security attack in the last 12 months, with a quarter suffering data loss due to a major security breach.

Over 14% have resulted in company fines, whilst a majority (82%) have removed or blocked applications like Zoom, WhatsApp, and others considered vulnerability risks from work devices.
