Starhub and M1 to jointly bid for 5G licence

They are working towards the deadline for proposals.

StarHub and M1 have agreed to submit a joint bid for a 5G licence in an exclusive agreement, according to a press release.

Multiple industry analysts have expected the two companies to partner for the licence. According to a report by DBS Group Research, StarHub has been planning to sign a network-sharing deal with M1 since 2017, but saw delays due to conditions in the mobile market and change in M1’s ownership structure.

The parties are reportedly working towards the 17 February deadline for 5G proposals.
