DHL buys 7,400 tonnes of made-in-Singapore sustainable aviation fuel

This is DHL’s first SAF purchase for international flights from Changi Airport.

DHL Express and Neste signed a landmark deal to purchase made-in-Singapore sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for international flights.

From July 2025 to June 2026, an estimated 7,400 tonnes (9.5 million litres) of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel will be supplied to DHL in Singapore.

The deal is one of the largest SAF deals for air cargo in Asia in terms of volume.

The contract indicates that Neste will supply DHL with CORSIA-eligible 1 SAF produced locally at its refinery in Singapore, the world’s largest SAF production facility, for one year.

The SAF will account for about 35-40% of the overall fuel usage of DHL’s five Boeing 777 freighters based at the South Asia Hub located at Changi Airport.

This is also DHL’s first direct procurement of SAF for flights going out of Changi Airport.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
