Grab appoints new managing director for Singapore

He will succeed Yee Wee Tang.

Grab has appointed Alejandro Osorio as the new managing director of Grab Singapore, effective 1 July 2025.

Osorio, who currently leads Grab Vietnam, will succeed Yee Wee Tang, who will transition to the role of group managing director of operations, overseeing multiple countries across the region.

In his new role, Osorio will lead Grab’s next phase of growth in Singapore, focusing on expanding GrabCab taxi services, integrating Chope for a unified food experience, and developing financial products through GrabFin and GXS Bank.

Osorio brings significant experience to the role, having previously served as director of regional strategy and planning at Grab’s Singapore headquarters and leading operations in Thailand and Vietnam.

Yee, who has led Grab Singapore’s operations for several years, will now take on a broader regional role as Group Managing Director of Operations. In this new position, Tang will oversee operations across multiple countries, focusing on strategic alignment, platform safety, and driver and merchant operations.

Meanwhile, Ma Tuan Trong, currently the country commercial head for Grab Vietnam, will be appointed as managing director of Grab Vietnam. Trong has been a key figure in driving Grab’s growth in Vietnam and will continue to lead expansion efforts in the market.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
