Tiger Airways passengers up 11% in February 2011

484,000 passengers were carried by Tiger Airways for the month of February 2011.

According to Tiger Airways, 5.9 million passengers chose to fly with Tiger Airways in Asia and Australia from March 2010 to February 2011. This is a 26% increase over the previous 12 months. Load factor from march 2010 to February 2011 averaged 86%, compared to 85% in the previous 12 months.

The average load factor across Asia and Australia for the month was 83%.

Tony Davis, President and Group CEO of Tiger Airways Holdings, said, “We recorded a solid 11% increase in passengers in the month of February despite short term capacity reductions in our Australian domestic network due to temporary weakness caused by recent natural weather events. Capacity has been progressively restored and will be fully restored by the start of April 2011.

During February, Tiger Airways commenced new services between Sydney and Brisbane, which is Australia’s second busiest domestic route. Services will also be launched between Sydney and Sunshine Coast later this month.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
