Cathay marks anniversary with retro-livery A350 in Changi

Aircraft to operate international routes through 2026.

Cathay marked its anniversary with the arrival of an Airbus A350 aircraft painted in its historic “lettuce leaf sandwich” livery at Singapore Changi Airport on 27 Jan.

The landing marked the first appearance of the retro livery in Singapore as part of the carrier’s anniversary-related activities.

The green-and-white striped livery replicates a design used on Cathay aircraft in earlier decades and was applied to the A350 earlier in January.

Cathay said the aircraft is part of a limited retro-livery programme introduced during its anniversary year.

Cathay said Singapore has been part of its network since its first scheduled service to the city in 1946 and remains a key Southeast Asia market.

The airline currently operates eight daily flights between Singapore and Hong Kong, according to the statement.

The A350 will continue operating on international routes through 2026, the airline said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
