Atome’s BNPL debuts on Taobao Singapore

Every Saturday, Atome shoppers can enjoy a $12 off for a $120 minimum spend.

Fintech Atome’s buy now pay later (BNPL) solution is now available in Taobao Singapore.

The move is expected to make the cross-border shopping experience even more seamless and affordable for its users, Atome said in a press release.

The BNPL payment option is available to shoppers in Singapore on the Taobao mobile app. They first need to have an existing Atome account and add Atome to the checkout payment option.

Taobao Singapore will have a special promotion of $12 off for every minimum spend of $120 for Atome users every Saturday, up to 3 August. On 18 June, Taobao shoppers can enjoy an additional $15 discount for every minimum spend of $200.

“Adding Atome’s popular BNPL payment option to our range of existing options will offer greater choice, flexibility and convenience to our valued customers and elevate their shopping experience,” said Taobao Singapore country manager Jean Zhao.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
