Creating new realities with the Futurealistic Studio

Oceanus Media Global’s innovation wins at the 2023 SBR Technology Excellence Awards.

Event platforms grew as a result of the lockdowns and health protocols imposed by governments during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. As time passed, the rapid growth of these platforms led to audiences demanding more unique and immersive experiences that were not found in their in-person counterparts.

Establishing a one-stop shop for creating extended, augmented, mixed, and virtual reality experiences required Oceanus Media Global’s (OMG) technological expertise. Through the creation of a new kind of multi-dimensional demo showcase and deeply immersing their users in innovative ways during the launch, OMG’s Futurealistic Studio set itself apart from the typical technical demo and virtual event platforms in the market. 

With OMG leading the immersive media landscape, the Futurealistic Studio was built upon the creative concept of “Making Futurealistic Experiences” to represent how the studio is the future of next-gen storytelling. For OMG’s developments, Resolute Communications received the Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality - Internet/New Media Award in this year’s SBR Technology Excellence Awards.

The awards programme recognises the success and achievements of companies in Singapore in developing world-class products and services aided by digital capabilities, and Resolute Communications exalted themselves from their peers with their original concept for the content creation process in Futurealistic Studio.

Every aspect of the event was designed to stimulate a sense of immersion and depth in order to achieve OMG’s goal of encapsulating a multi-dimensional experience. Chosen technology platforms were visually depicted using four stylized brand marks to match the futuristic feel of the event space, connecting the high-tech design identity to the cutting-edge experience. 

The launch was created as a narrative-driven Extended Reality (XR) performance; hence, the 15-minute show was structured into four acts that showcased the futuristic experience through unique 3D real-time virtual environments.

Act 1 showcased the great outdoors as the birthplace of stories, reflecting the company’s goal of redefining storytelling through technology. The next act featured interactive, augmented 3D graphs in a conference setting, showing how OMG can connect ideas with people and businesses. Acts 3 and 4 presented an interactive performance that demonstrated how reality can be manufactured at scale, culminating in a mixed reality spectacle integrated with a motion capture artist's performance in real time.

Through the overwhelming success of the launch and the high-profile attendee list, OMG received a large amount of media exposure via key media publications that substantially let the market know more about the uniquely immersive experience and the brand of its Futurealistic Studio.

OMG also timed the development and launch of their social media channels to organically echo media shoutouts that further amplify the brand’s reach and drive fresh engagement through exciting content and project showcases.

In total, OMG’s marketing reached over 9 million people, with a total PR value of over $130,000, which clearly indicates the campaign’s success. OMG has set a precedent for the next wave of brand experiences in the media and entertainment industries with their narrative-driven, XR-powered performance that immerses and captures the audience’s imaginations.
