SIFT Analytics' data-driven solution brings better insights to improve performance in protein production, wins SBR Technology Excellence Award

SIFT Analytics’ solution enables easier and faster insights to enhance decision making.

Large-scale farming operations are very complex. There are many environmental and operational factors that will affect production. Without good insights into the large volume of farming operational data collected, business performance will be impacted when the right decisions are not made timely. This results in large swing in profitability and inconsistent business performance.

As such, SIFT Analytics Group implemented an analytics solution for the agriculture company Japfa to provide visibility to improve production management by integrating complex farm operational data with financial data. This centralised performance tracking aligns true cost and revenue resulting in proactive decision-making to drive business performance.

With better insights into what is happening in farms, actions can be taken to drive production performance. SIFT’s solution enables Japfa to understand performance trends and make management decisions to meet expectations. This empowers the business and operations to learn and make adjustments faster, improving cost efficiencies in a sustainable manner.

Since this technology is not something most farmers are accustomed to, utilising this technology has not been smooth sailing. One of SIFT Analytics’ first obvious struggles was with its users ingesting large volumes of data rapidly.

The task may have seemed simple, but due to the high volume, velocity, variety, and value of the data, it proved to be a challenging undertaking for the reporting teams to generate the KPI measures and reporting structures accurately and promptly for the key executives.

It also took key executives time to get on board with the changes proposed. Some were quick to endorse their support. The small projects quickly turned into multiple agile data analytics projects across the organisation with the support of central IT, underpinning the important role of data governance, quality, ingestion, and unification.

For SIFT Analytics, data analytics can provide a strong advantage in helping agriculture businesses enhance decision-making. Given that SIFT Analytics has 23 years of rich industry experience and expertise, they initialised their Kickstart Digitalisation campaign this year. Companies of any size or sector can have their business evaluated and an exploration of building a future digital roadmap – Click here for more information.

This innovative feat has been recognised by the SBR Technology Excellence Awards, as SIFT Analytics took home the win in the Analytics - Business Services category.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
