Industrialists turn to private landlords to evade JTC’s strict policies

Subletting rules are stifling.

Some manufacturers are turning to private industrial landlords instead of leasing space from JTC, a report by Colliers revealed.

The report noted that the stringent controls imposed by JTC led some industrialists to turn to the private sector in the first quarter, where there are no restrictions especially for standalone industrial buildings.

“The industrial leasing segment continued to see healthy activity level in 1Q 2015. Industrialists with businesses that are part of the manufacturing chain of high-technology products are expanding and looking for more space. Leasing interest also stemmed from firms in growth industries such as data centres,” stated Colliers.
